concerts are freakin sweet!
Well, I did put a little blurb in here last night after I got home, but I guess I did something wrong cause it isn't here. So, I went to the Nickel Creek concert last night with Kristen and Karen. It was weird cause we actually didn't have any problems getting there or coming back. That hardly ever happens. We got to Columbus around 6pm and decided to eat at the Flying Pizza (i think that's what it was called). The food was pretty good for being dirt cheap. Then, we waited in line to go inside, which apparently we really didn't need to wait in. It was raining and cold, but definitely worth it. Finally, we got to go inside around 7pm and we proceeded to stand around and wait until 8pm for the opening act to play. I was surprised that there was an opening act. At the first concert I went to they didn't have one and played longer. The Ditty Bops were the name. They were awesome. They have a mix between ragtime and bluegrass. It's really cool. The one girl has pink hair!! Anyway, they played for about 45 minutes and then we waited another half hour for Nickel Creek to come out. Then, finally, all my dreams came true!! hahahaha Not quite, but it was freakin sweet! They played most of their newest album and a lot of their songs without singing. This time they had lights that flashed and fog and all that stuff. It was hilarious cause they did their own rendition of a very popular song. "Toxic" by britney spears. Seriously, I'd much rather hear their version any day. The main singer (a guy) did all of the singing..... and in the same key as the original. it was quite high but great. and of course, they came back out for an encore. ahhhhhhh Good times were had.
You'd think that a crowd going to see Nickel Creek would not be very rambunctious (spelling?) but it was right across from OSU. Lots of drunk people who liked to yell during quiet songs. duh people! I'd like to be able to hear them and not you! At one point, there was a very drunk guy behind us singing his heart out. Not that he was a bad singer, but I paid to hear Nickel Creek, not you buddy. I felt so bad for Karen because she was stuck beside two girls that were dancing and dancing and dancing and dancing. Even when nothing was going on they were moving. geeze She was afraid of being elbowed.
Overall, everything was stupendous! Now I have to wait for another two years or so for another concert.......... oh well. I had a great time!!!!!!!
